Calgary is a great place to live for some, a terrible place to live for others. If you are the outdoors type then you will love it. If not, you will just find it cold and boring. I couldn’t imagine living in Calgs if I didn’t like snowboarding and hiking. I can see why certain players would rather play in bigger/warmer cities.

also, highly doubt Makar will leave the Avs if they continue to be a top team during his current contract, the moment McKinnon gets resigned it's going to almost solidify that team for the next 6 years… They'll also not give up on the best player in the league.

wow, kind of a weird connection that Calgary has with the Colorado Avalanche. And those two could be the two best in the coming season. It should be an interesting friendly rivalry on the ice. I wonder if the Avs are even going to be able to afford resigning MacKinnon after this coming season. Word is he wants to be the highest paid player in the league. As an Avs fan, I got the chance to go for a game in Calgary once. It's a wonderful city and loved the fans. Naz has been my favorite player, so it's kind of heartbreaking seeing him leave. But I'm glad that you guys got some star power back, after IMO being done wrong by your big two leaving the way they did.

The thing about the Colorado Avalanche and the Calgary Flames, especially the fanbases, is we’re really close. I’m a flames fan through and through, and my first adidas-style jersey was an avs makar (yes I have a flames one now too, a 20 glencross)
Just look at the subreddits, avs fans and flames fans constantly interact with each other in each other’s subs, Denver and Calgary regardless of hockey are pretty similar cities with proximity to the rockies and all that. I can’t wait for the avs to come to Calgary this year, like yea there’ll be a little bit of friendly chirping, but by 2nd intermission we’ll probably all be sharing beers

As an Avs fan I hope Makar never plays for the Flames (because I don't want him to leave) but the way the entire team has talked about Kadri since he's joined it doesn't surprise me that the guys are wishing the best for him regardless of if it is with the Avs or not. The Avs couldn't afford a 7×7 but Kadri has taken team friendly deals in the past so he deserves to get paid. This team bonded so much this season so finding out a couple of them are helping Kadri out even if he's leaving isn't a shock.
I absolutely loved Naz during his stint in Colorado, I promise Flames fans will love him too. The guy is all heart.

I've never been to Calgary but I've heard time and time again that Denver and Calgary are very similar cities. Maybe Naz wanted that same feel since we couldn't get the Cap here in Denver
