I agree Wayne, a perfect pick, the guy has been through the wringer professionally and give him credit for being tough and sticking it out throughout that adversity, both personally and those of the team's dramas over the past few years. Lets go Buffalo!

It's the last year of his contract. You don't make a guy captain on his last year unless he's had a talk with Adam's to come back on a hometown discount I believe he's from NY or pretty close to Buffalo. He made 6 mil for 6 years he's ok for cake but wants to win the cup with all the young lads. I'm calling my shot we make the playoffs whooooo whoooooo

I'm not liking the choice. Should have been Tuch hands down. When will this franchise stop holding onto the past ? Did Okposo step into the role out of guilt ? He outright stole money from them with that contract…..guess this is his way of giving back ?
I don't understand the opposition to Okposo as captain. He earned it the past two years. Still hoping you've got a video coming predicting the first 10 games.

Kyle, over the years, has seen what good captaincy looks like, and displays what it takes to provide it. Okie, has the qualities of what it now means to be a Buffalo Sabre…
It always amazes me how teams go through seasons without a skipper. It's a very specific role that has to be filled. A team without a recognised Captain has no accountability. Look back on guys like Peca and Lafontaine, leaders by both deed and attitude. Good luck to Kyle, hopefully his tenure will reflect the upturn in team fortunes.
