  1. Excellent video, thank you!
There is however, a major part of this success story that was not mentioned,  that has more to do with the power of inspiration than it does stats and the blossoming of talent.

Two days prior to the season opener in Phoenix, and ten days prior to the inaugural season home opener, the tragic event that came to be known as "ONE OCTOBER" cast a dark cloud of confusion and sadness over this city.  These players, who didn't ask to come here, suddenly found themselves representatives of a community that was rocked to it's core by a selfish act of violence that made no sense.  In between practicing for the first few times together, they were out in the community visiting survivors in the hospitals, donating blood, and making a statement that this organization is first class off the ice, before they were ever able to show if they were any good on the ice.  The original pregame ceremony, with all the glitz of a Las Vegas world class show, was written, rehearsed, and ready to go….but was scrapped in favor of a somber, yet inspirational tribute honoring the victims who lost their lives and the courage/dedication of the emergency services/first responders.

Ask any Golden Knights player how they were able to rise to the level it takes to play in an NHL game following such an emotional ceremony, and they'll tell you the inspiration they felt was unlike anything they'd ever experienced; they knew they HAD to win that game.  They came out on fire, scoring 4 goals before the halfway point of period 1.   They wound up winning the inaugural home game 5-2, and they never looked back…they bonded together in a way that allowed chemistry to develop, and they've ridden that inspirational, emotional wave all season long and into the post season…and while it remains to be played out, probably all the way to the Stanley Cup.

As a Vegas resident and someone who has seen it unfold from the beginning, I can say with all confidence that the love the team gave to the community, which continues to be returned by the fans nightly, is a very real inspirational boost that blows the lid off any success a salary cap could ever contain!!!

  2. ……. every single pundit said this team would be trash. Hindsight is 20/20

  3. I drafted william Karlsson way to early in my fantasy draft. What a let sown.

  4. gosh if they only won the stanley cup…it was great checking out a knights game there…can't wait to go there again…when they play the kings…go kings

  5. This was a pick-up team. These players never played on the same team. The coach didn't know the players. What were the odds? One thing that each player had in common was the coaching staff. This was not fate or luck. Coaching; excellent coaching is the common factor. The team had to sign on with this coach. The coach matches the players strengths. The players just relaxed and gave it all they had. This coaching and a "no where but up" attitude allowed this BABY team to achieve more than any other team in NHL history.

  6. Glad I found your channel, I wish there were more NHL youtube channels like this. Keep up the good work!

  7. Now do a video on how they blew their wad on giving these players big contracts. Two years in and salary cap fucked lmao yeah I think Vegas fans have seen the best of this team for the next couple years because they screwed up. Can't even get one free agent this off-season lmao.

  8. Golden Knights has a very high chance to set the fastest record ever from franchise establishment to Stanley Cup Champions

  9. As a guy that lives in a tropical islands of Asia with no fanfare for football, baseball and especially hockey, and as a non hockey fan, I instantly became a fan of the Golden Knights because of how untraditional they manage to construct a championship contending team with a couple of misfits.

Usually expansion teams are supposed to suck for their first couple of years. I've seen it (as a basketball fan) happen to the Charlotte Bobcats, Toronto Raptors and the (former) Vancouver Grizzlies yet I have never experienced an expansion team have a playoff level winning record let alone contending for a Championship in their 1st year of their existence.

  10. Vegasborn here… I know what you're talking about dude… Yeah, they won't stop until they get their Stanley cup…

  11. Hey man I've really been enjoying your content! You should definitely try and give MLS a shot they have great stories and fan culture that would be awesome to see in the video essay format. Since we're in the quarantine its a perfect time to go down the soccer rabbit hole. Stay safe brotha.

  12. As a Nevadan can’t tell you enough how much people here love this team and how devastating that was when they lost in the finals

  13. Everyone thinks that Vegas was this crazy underdog but really the expansion draft rules are just unfair. They basically told teams they could protect less than half their roster while the new team could just take who they wanted without going over the salary cap. That shouldn't be how expansions work. They should have to build up a team over a couple years before they are very much like all the other teams. Expansion teams shouldn't be making deep playoff runs in their first year.

  14. Look at them now going into year four, this team has lost the underdog mentality entirely and has lost the heart. Their series against Dallas this past season proved that they’re nothing but entitled pieces of crap spoiled with success. Their likable players have been sold to buy high end talent to try to get them a championship.

  15. Oh how i wished theyd won that Stanley Cup first year;o but good for Ovechkin and Bäckström to do it aswell

  16. I'm a Raiders fan that watched them relocate. I will be a Knight's fan to support Vegas. I want to move out there one day
