  1. Well the first period was fun. The other two looked a hell of a lot like last year. I just wanted to look competitive with the Canes this year. They kick our ass every game it seems lately

  2. IAmAChemicalEngineer

Wasn’t expecting a W tonight but would have like to have seen a slightly closer fight.

Game 1 of 82. Home opener on Friday.

  4. bucknuts34

That was so disappointing. Almost a worst case scenario to start the season

  5. i_am_covered

So the recalled goal and the injury robbed us of all momentum. I’m just going to blame that! No need to worry. See you all Friday!

  6. rickd_csgo

kinda fell apart after the silly Ness. 81 to go.

  7. AustinJohnson35

I mean, on the road against a contender with a shaky back up because Elvis is sick. At least it’s only game 1.

  8. IgnoreTheRumors

It’s not the loss that sucks. It’s having all your optimism ripped out of your chest by seeing your best goal scorer injured game one. That’s crushing.

Granted, Carolina is a great team. But the Blue Jackets looked like they quit about 3 minutes into the 3rd. Lazy, sloppy mistakes leading to goals and almost no offensive pressure. In the second half of a back-to-back, I get it. In game 1? Not exactly encouraging.

I had a funeral to go to and missed about 90% of the game. How did we look tonight??? And Laine injured?!?!? Fuuuuuck…..

  11. Dkoop2003

Only good thing about tonight was Tarasov, and Laine’s goal, but since Laine is probably out long term, it’s down to just Tarry. That being said, Korpi better watch his back, he might just lose his job

  12. Infranto

Starter out sick, Laine injured, no help from the refs.

Doesn’t help that all of our star players looked like they were still in preseason mode. Lets hope that doesn’t happen again on Friday.

  13. KyloSolo723

Gotta clean up the turnovers and pray that Laine is back on Friday. Tarasov looked good, but the defense held him out to dry. See you all at Nationwide on Friday.

Some of y’all gotta fuckin chill lol

A bubble team at best down a man, a controversial offside call, home opener high emotion, playing our backup, against a team projected to be a top 5 team… relax bros, there’s 81 more games

  15. Hazy_eyePA

EVERYONE GO GET A MRI TOMORROW IN SOLIDARITY WITH LAINE

  16. Captain49

Lots of things working against us, but I definitely would’ve liked to have seen us fight back more in the 3rd. Hope Laine is okay. Still looking forward to the home opener on Friday!

  17. spmartin1993

Even though it was 4 goals. Tarasov looked good

  18. I wanna punch out the hockey gods for days straight. Jeeeeeezus

  19. That game was the definition of ‘experience jackets hockey’

  20. corkythecactus

    I don’t know what I expected

  21. mammiemilker

On the bright side, Tarasov looked great, except for the one soft goal he let in near the end. Dude is so big that he covers the whole net and swallows up most straight forward shots.

At least it was only game one, and when the team was together, we looked pretty good, in my opinion at least. Carolina has slowly been building a solid team worthy of a Cup, so playing as we did right of the gate is a good sign.

Hopefully Laine isn’t too fucked up and won’t be out long 🤞

  22. rpgFANATIC

Forget the game. Is Laine back on Friday?

  23. words_of_nerd

A little bit better management of momentum and the game structure changes the outcome.

Larsen has to keep the boys engaged after some gutting moments like injuries, goals returned, missed opportunities, and the officiating.

  24. Still some bright spots. 1 game doesn’t make an entire season.

  25. oliver-77

Is it bad that I still pause before celebrating any goal that the jackets score because of offsides reviews. Even though it was called back, that was a beautiful effort by Sillinger. Let’s hope Laine is back soon and scoring more like the beauty tonight. Seemed like overall good effort in the offensive zone from the 3rd and 4th lines. Some sloppy play in front of the net that needs to be cleaned up and a night to do it.

Let’s see what the home opener holds Friday night against the bolts

  26. SpikePilgrim

Quickest I’ve rage quit a season. That goal called back after a shit powerplay broke me.

Anyways, see you Friday for the home opener.

  27. thanks4yourhelpyall

How did one game suck all my excitement for the season out that quick lol damn that was impressive

  28. warlink05

The bright side: at least we didn’t got shellacked for the first two periods compared to last Monday.

  29. bootheriumbombifronz

So what are the odds marchenko comes up for some tertiary goal scoring ability?

  30. JawnWickinThe3rd

Was like Gaudreau didn’t even play tonight I barely noticed him 🙁

  31. Viridian_Forrest

After that goal got waived off, they looked flatter than a plate full of piss out there.
