I trust in JC. All JC has to do is to keep it to 2, 3 or even 4 goals a night and the boys upfront will do what they do best…score 4 to 6 a night. Mike Smith and Koski were painfully 5 goal a night goalies (on average). Can we put some or most of the blame on our defense because of that? Absolutely! It's been the Oiler's theme song in the locker room for years…"tighten up the defense" is that ever going to happen? I'm not holding my breath. So it comes down to JC holding the fort at 4 goals max a night. The amount of games the Oil could have won in the last year or 2 if Smith, Koski and the defensive core shut the door after the 4th goal scored against the Oilers. Every team in the league knows if they're only scoring 3 goals night on the Oil they're in a crap load of trouble. They know the Oil scoring machine will take those games. Great win tonight. More importantly, great heart and determination to find that extra offensive gear and pull off the win.
