The Nucks looked like they knew what they were doing the whole 1st period… and on every power play they had. the OIL looked like none of them were introduced.

That Tic Tac Tow flat out reminded me of 80's Oilers, in how slick, polished and effortless they made it look. Awesome. Loads of things to "clean up" indeed, but a win is a win.

In Germany most home games are at 4am. It's become a little tradition for me to go to bed for another hour or two after the games and then enjoy your podcast with my morning coffee. Sometimes, I enjoy the podcast more than the games, especially when they lose and your analysis of it is spot on. But obviously wins are more fun and reliving them with you guys afterwards. Really. Excited for the season and all the cult of hockey podcasts that come with it! Btw my bad thing was the fact they pretty much took Holloway out of the game after his mistake. He should have had the opportunity to shrug it off and have a great game despite his one bad play.

I am a bit concerned that Woody put Dry and McD together for so much of the second and third periods. GHost of Tip , although now the second line is a good follow up and a third line is solid also. Nice to have the lineup to do that . Oilers roster has evolved in a positive direction, for sure.

Good podcast but seriously you guys need to up your production value…there are now alot of oilers channels on youtube…I respect that you come from print media but throw some Oilers stuff in the background or something…add screen shots of plays…I know you guys are old…but no excuses…2 cheap dslr with video 2 rode shotgun mics and less boring backgrounds will increase your viewership I'll guarantee it. 1k views, 77 likes 23 comments…could be 10 views 5000 likes and 300 comments…
The Nurse penalty was the turning point…yes the Canucks scored but the oilers got drug into the battle.

I started watching The Cult of Hockey back about 3 years ago now, have watched every episode since that day!. Visited Edmonton back in 2013 during the dark times, fell in-love with the hockey club, moved from Australia to Edmonton 2015, had to move back home to Australia 2017 and have watched almost every Oilers Game. Thank you both to your hard work and time its really appreciated from this one Australian Oilers Fan!

I hate to see a team get a goal on a blatant missed call like the way Edmonton scored their first goal. What was the ref looking at? It should have been a blatant canucks 4 minute PP, instead its a goal for Edmonton. Just sucks a ref can play that big of a role in a hockey game.

Hi from another Oiler fan abroad. Now on a ship between China and Singapore and soon heading back to Thailand to relax and enjoy games in the mornings from the pool. I think the Oilers on purpose was roughing up the canucks… because they know that team can be bullied and they'll shrink… and it WORKED.
Oilers don't take so many cheap penalties against any other team.
