  1. You forgot about our Russian Phenom Vladimir Tkachev coming over from Russia this year. If this guy makes the team watch out he is really offensively gifted and was a powerhouse for SP SKA over the years. He will be coming over as a 25 year old rookie (sound familiar).

  2. Also the Kings AHL team the Ontario Rein is going to be really fun to watch this year as well because a lot of these super talented kids are going to end up here when there isn't room on the big club. Should be fun to follow.

  3. I'm not fan of either the Ducks or Kings, but I don't understand why LA gets so much hype and Anaheim so much flak. To me both of teams are as bad. Everybody ignoring the fact that LA was the worst team 5v5 last year. They had decent special team numbers and they took a lot of advantages of neutral zone turnovers. That more speaks about experienced coaching and that Kopitar and Brown were not total dumpsters. For example Ducks young players that were in the lineup last year made much bigger progress than the Kings youngsters. Ducks problems were more due to inconsistent Gibson and bad coaching, which they partially fixed by adding better assistant coaches. I don't know. if Gibson has a consistent season putting .920 in a season, the Ducks can be much much better, while in the Kings lneup I don't have a guy that would be able to do that. Overall I like more the direction Ducks took than the Kings. I think there will be a lot of dissapointed Kings fans next year. To me Ducks, Kings, Senators, Red Wings, Sabres, Sharks and Coyotes are all bad and you can basically coin flip, who will be the best and who the worst of these teams.

  4. The first half of last year, the Kings were in a playoff spot and had some REALLY great runs. The inexperience of some of the players then showed as the season wore on, but I have very high hopes for this group. The additions were VERY specific and VERY purposeful, fixing gaps that the team knew they needed to address.
Combining all this with the best young talent pool in the league, and a weaker division overall, LA could land anywhere from 3rd to 6th.
But the other teams should take note. The LA team will be a force to be reckoned with in another year or two.

  5. Single trade moved the Kings from joke team to a really scary one. And you wouldn't think of the right person, unless you followed the team news.

  6. The Kings will be better this season but if the young guys don't become more of a force it will be all for not.

  7. feeling good about this season for the kings, obviously not stanley cup win but …. maybe?!? I just want t0 see more results go their way and see the kids grow and flourish. i think the fact that shannon and others are picking them as dark horses for the season is great. GKG

  8. All 3 California teams have been REALLY good at some point during the last 15 years. But now when you say California teams = the bad teams, the easy teams to beat. Is it a coincidence or is there a reason behind it?

  9. As a Kings fans i have No idea how our prospects Will ever get in the line up like 60% is centers and out top to center is Kopi and Danuallt, we gonna need to trade at some point

  10. As a huge Kings fan I think you hit it right on the head. This could be a "oh, well I guess we get the 3rd overall pick" or "Yeah, we made the 3rd round" lol. Well done.

  11. Not bad. Missed the KHL player the Kings picked up
Russian winger Vladimir Tkachyov. While he may be a nothing burger it does add to your point that the Kings have a lot of weapons to try and fill some voids in the lineup.

  12. Kings will surprise, lots of fluidity in that roster and room for young talented players to make a move. Tkachev is another wild card

  13. I am happy that Shannon has given this video his attention. As an LA Kings Hockey fan, and came from a hockey family growing up in Toronto, I learned the game. It's a great game, but only some people can understand it completely. It takes on a real learning curve, and the NHL is just a small but vital part of the whole picture of hockey from minor to college to European to Russian to Eastern Europe. It's much bigger sport than people realize. The talent is just amazing, and so is the coaching. Fast, quick and decisive. Honestly, I have no idea how the Goalies survive. LOL

  14. This is the most underatted team in the league rn, I've got them at 3rd in the Pacific. Their foward depth is actually nutty and their getting a full year of Byfield this year means their gonna break through.

  15. Thanks for these previews…I'm only up to this one so far but I will be watching all of them. It amazes me how you manage to make me actually care about each team–or at least a player on each team. Watching THG the last 3 years has increased my awareness of individual players and deepened my knowledge of the game. Thank you for all the work you do!! (Go Avs!)

  16. Dustin Brown did they sign him to a 20 yet contract? Seems like he’s been on the team forever.

  17. Pretty much spot on preview, i think we finish 5th in the division. But next year we have to make the playoffs, or big changes needs to happen

  18. This team needs experience before playoffs. They may be the long shot for the division but defintely not another Stanley Cup contender just yet.

  19. L.A is my wifes team so I gotta root for them to not do terrible 🤣

Edit: I am a Londoner so actually go Doughty

  20. Don't even have Vladimir Tkachyov on your board. Some of the LA media has him projected to be RW2 lined up with Danault.

  21. im just so happy vegas was stupid enough to let fleury go bc now the west has a chance lol

  22. Your knowledge is spot on and as a Die Hard Kings fan i appreciate that. I don’t want to type an essay here but i have thoughts that i just have to type out so they don’t frustrate me on the daily. It’s time we stop calling guy “goal scorers” on LA just because they are put on the top 2 lines. Kempe is the hardest thing to watch play on ice and is not a true King IMO, let’s move on from him please. Iafallo is a King to the core and so is Lizotte. Lizotte 4th line and Iafallo on the 3rd(just the truth). Start the season with Kopi, Ardivddson, and ANY of the kids on the opposite wing. Kalyev preferably but Thomas, or Kupari (even if they are C). Let’s just gooo for Christ’s sake. Brown is not a 1st liner, neither is Kempe, who else am i missing. Lias Anderson deserves a shot more than most even. Those that will combat this and say Kempe has been great and progressing just haven’t been watching. He disappears for 20 game stretches.
Kopi, Arviddson, Kalyev …… Dannault, brown, Kempe (since we didn’t get rid of him)…. Byfield, Iaffalo, Kupari… Lizotte, Anderson, Grundstrom. And btw Villardi has looked like a career AHL player so i kept him out.

  23. So for the Kings I like the momentum that they have going into this season. Last year they were in the hunt for a majority of the season, even being a few wins off leading the division. Fans are extremely excited for the upcoming seasons, and to be able to a full arena at full capacity, since LA kept a 30% (probably wrong) capacity. Along with the momentum, I don't see Tom letting a failing bottom six go. I feel like this season he's gonna bring up and send down alot if something doesn't work. With all the other teams in the division trying to fully find their stride, i love their chances. Arvidson showed that he can score before, Danault shows he can create opportunities, and Kempe has a chance to show he is a goal scorer. This thought of that line makes me a little overly excited. Even as a Kings fan, if this year is bad, like you said we have a chance to get a #1 pick. The question is no longer an if but more of when. I'm so glad I got season tickets this year, love your video and how well thought out it was for LA, not alot of content creators really hit a good stride with them

  24. Brown.
Apparently you don't watch Kings hockey.
Had one of his best years.
    You obviously are completely clueless.

  25. Excellent preview! I think we struggle for another year but make a great breakthrough next year, they looked great first game out..and I wish they would bring out the purple and gold again, we have the ugliest unis right now..

  26. Hey man, huge fan of your channel. As a born and raised LA Kings fan. I sadly see us having another rough season unfortunately, I agree with possibly 6th or worse. Seems like we have no chemistry yet again and just seems like we have so many turn overs same as last year and we always can never finish a game it seems even if we score first, we always fall apart in 2nd or 3rd period. And now with Doughty injured already and now with tonight Sean Walker being injured I really see a big hole in our defense. I honestly want more offense though to be completely honest, I was so thrilled when we aquired Arviddson from Nashville but so far he seems like he is trying to find his place I honestly think it was dumb to put him on a line with Kopitar and Brown his speed compared to theirs is unmatched. I honestly think Arviddson should be paired with Kempe and Iafallo or some other line combination that has more speed and fits with his style of play. But anyways just my peace, I am praying we get out of this ditch we are already in we've lost the last 5 games in a row, so I am trying to be optimistic but it's very difficult as always being a Kings fan. Lol I guess I just want to be relevant again or a competitor, but time will tell! If this year we finish last I think Todd needs to go as our head coach but that's me. ✌️
