We were garbage in the second period. That period single-handedly lost us the game. Craig Anderson was AMAZING! Shoulda been first, second, and third star! 🧱

Here we go again. They need to make a coaching change. DJ never has them ready for the beginning of the season, changes his lines last minute And has implemented zero defensive structure in Ottawa’s game in all his time here. Yes I realize it’s the first game but the glaring mistakes from last season are still happening. I don’t think they’re going to succeed until we see a coaching change but that’s just my two cents. Power play was horrible, Norris -3. If our defence is going to be this bad you might as well play JBD and Thomson and get them reps at the very least. Very disappointing first game.
Buffalo played well (future looks bright)and so did the Senators except for points in the second period. The Sens will get better but I hope they don't wait until the halfway point of the season to do it. By then the playoffs will be out of reach.
