Well, we lost a “must-win” game just as embarrassingly as we lost the previous one. What now?
Shout out Miles for backing up his words. Dude was one of the few guys who worked and im glad he got a goal for his effort. That look on his face afterwords was super telling

I think we need to pump the brakes here. Lindy is not getting fired 2 games into the season where we badly outplayed both teams.
We need to score on our opportunities which we’re doing a good job of creating, we need some better goaltending, and we need to do a better job of breaking out of the zone.
Majority of the goals in both games have come from poor breakouts resulting in turnovers at the blue line. This is the kind of thing that can get fixed after a couple practices and dramatically reduce defensive zone time.
I’m at a loss. Currently the Devils are #1 in the league for CF%. #1 in the league for SF%. #2 in the league for xGF/60. #1 in the league for xGA/60. #1 in the league for SCF%. #3 in the league for HDCF%. #1 in CA/60. #1 in SA/60.
Then we are are 31st in the league for SV%. 29th in the league for SH%. 32nd in the league for PDO. 29th in GF%.
From the looks of it they are doing A LOT of things right, but they aren’t finishing, and their opponents are. I’m not sure what the answer is. Just based on the level of shot suppression they’ve seen through the first game I almost want to say its bad luck, or momentary lapses of reason/discipline but I’m not sure.
Feeling super demoralized this morning. I’m doing my best to stay off the internet regarding the game because of how toxic some parts of our fanbase is. The season is FAR from over. I think that once they start finding the back of the net things could certainly turn around. Their goal scorers just need to finish.
I’d say Ruff has 10 games. If the team hasn’t turned it around by then, I think he’ll be out the door.
Those players that don’t show up or play like shit with a year of high expectations on the team need to be benched. You can’t just allow Severson and Graves to sleepwalk during important games. I am done with both those guys. Give me hungry guys, Bahl and Okhotiuk. At least if they make mistakes it’s because they are young. Enough of inconsistent ADD players. The players that stood out positively for me are Marino, Wood and Zetterlund
