I’m going to keep sharing this story, I met Barkov here in Key West where I work and live. I asked how he liked playing for and being captain of the Panthers,,, his response it’s ok hockey is just a hobby. I thought he was joking. I believe him now, that’s what it looks like, No heart ❤️, No balls, No passion.
Eric send Stu some of that greenery to swich out with the Cigar. Its the third game of the season….chill. Staal wasn't that bad, when we lose we only see negative. Staal made plenty of great plays, I agree Reinhart would be better on 3rd, he isnt as good against other teams top line and d pair.
Too early to judge the team but our D is very iffy going forward. I would switch reinhart with balcers.

Some thoughts: 1) obviously the Boston strategy of 'score first' was very effective. 2) in terms of the Boston salary cap: Barky, Bobs, Horny, Chucky need to take a page from their book – "If you want to play here in Boston and you're a star you take a bit less, because if you want to win, the 4th line, the 3rd D pair, the second goalie ALL have to be GOOD, and that means you're paying above the minimum for those positions. And that makes it more likely YOUR EFFORTS will produce a winner".

Some more thoughts from 'the hocky brain factory": 1) agree the first line needs a re-fit. Move some pieces. Barky might be starting the season in a slump. Give it some time. 2)teams watch opponents game videos. If there is a sense that Staal is weak, they will be coming right at him. Let's see how he fairs. 3)if we need more D, agree about the Charlotte guys, but look for Zito to go shopping. So far looks like Mahura will fit. 4)I really thought that White, Gudas, Forsling, Chucky, and Bobs played good games. But Thachuk also probably realizes by now that teams are going to bait him. Can he hold back if he needs to, like Gudas did? 3) agree that we could have won the game. Boston isn't vastly superior, but the Cats should have known that the Bruins were going to come at them hard early, and the first goal was a major failure on everybody's part.
I gotta agree with Stu today but shoulda woulda coulda. Also tough to stop the break w 4 D men.
Let's see what happens Wednesday night. Only 3rd game.
