This a stipulation regional carriers have, this isn’t the NHLs choice.
Regional sports networks want a monopoly over their home teams games and make the NHLs streaming service block games if it detects you’re in that market.
My brother and I are Wild fans, my brother lives in Montana and for some reason Montana is considered part of the MN, Seattle, CO, and Las Vegas markets so he can’t watch any home games or watch whenever they play those teams without pirating.

I watched football on Sunday for the first time in years and noticed ads from the NBA with celebrities and their cool players (I think) all showing how cool it is to like the NBA.
Where’s the NHL’s cool commercial to try and trick football people into thinking they should be watching (and betting on) hockey too?
