Not even the Wing announcers are like that and this a game where Dallas is the home team and ESPN is supposed to be middle ground also that play by play announcer just has no clue what is going on and also can't do play by play. ( if you watched the whole game ya would understand what I mean.)
There's nothing wrong with the announcer – unless you think a female voice is wrong which obviously seems to be the problem for most posters here. Better get used to it, the old boys club is imploding as we speak.

They couldn't seem to say enough good things about Detroit. "One of the Original six…" "Beautiful new stadium, but The Joe… " "Scotty Bowman, Chris Osgood….we wanna have their babies" "Glendenning was a Red Wing…"

A female play by play commentator, I could barely listen to the hilites…and why ESPN hilites? Detroit has an award winning commentator on Bally and you choose the ESPN one? Brutal.
It won't be on the replay but there was a scrum in the corner and Leah hextall was quiet for 6 seconds. The absolute worst play by play. ESPN coverage of the NHL is terrible
