  1. Wow the Canucks have there hands full. JT Miller I don’t think will be there next season, with no cap space how much better can they really get. If I was Miller at that age I’d e looking to go to a contender. The Cap kills this great sport, hockey players shouldn’t have go on the cheap to play the game they love. Every other sport there athletes make soooo much more money. What a shame teams have to struggle to put a competitive team on the ice.

  2. Listen bud, there is no market for OEL at 8.5 for the next five years. The Leafs would trade for JT Miller today if they could. He IS going somewhere. Boeser could probably be on the move because his qualifying offer is what? Seven plus? Not worth it. Two of those gone you free up 12 + million.

  3. As a canucks fan I'm worried, knowing how Rutherford operates were going after old penguins, I would like to see the d upgraded and also move who ever on offense for Tyler bertuzzi garland and Pearson if need be

  4. So far all we have seen is office moves. I think they will be moving some players but not the ones that everyone mentions.

  5. right now, the canucks are 2 years away from being 2 years away and the cap situation is not good. i'm interested to see what J R does over the next couple of seasons.

  6. Why on earth did the canucks make that OEL Garland trade??? Dylan Gunther would've been a top 6 forward by 2022

  7. Miller to leafs looks promising but the leafs would have to give up Mikheyev, Niemela, and 3 picks

  8. As a lifelong Canucks fan I have absolutely no clue the direction Alvin and Rutherford will go… first question: are they going for it next year??? If so, you HAVE to sign Miller to achieve that… that scenario sounds like ownership is still in upper management's ear and sounds like the Canucks that I love… mediocrity
    Or…
Recognition that you have some assets that can facilitate a successful rebuild…
JT MILLER… A 8.5+ Million per year and term, he honestly needs the Captaincy if he's resigned (Horvat's Captaincy is a Benning move) but would be locked for 5 or 6 years 🤔
    Or
Get some young entry level studs to replenish the team…
    Get Cap space
    Get draft picks
Tank for the Bedard/Michkov year… (again my beloved Canucks don't tank… we just love mediocrity)
Brock… I think we missed the bus trading him… about 4 years ago when there was talk about going to Minnesota … and trading him now, with all his personal life problems, it would not be a good look for the Canucks… those guys care for each other…
I wish we had Giordano's contract over OEL… sigh… only 5 more years… kinda used to bad contracts… Thx Benning
Now my take…I am currently on team tank… I want the Miller trade… and I'm wanting Carolina to knock out NYR to drive up his value… currently Minnesota, NYR, Toronto, Florida, New Jersey, Boston…
I want the Canucks to be a lottery team but next year the bad teams are going to be really bad…
Trading Miller should cost the Canucks a good 10 points in the standings which could be bottom 6 next year…
Again Rutherford is renowned to keeping his hand close and he knows that he doesn't have to flinch… he has the draft and trade deadline before any critical decisions need to be made… And unless he pulls some Kevin Costner "Draft Day " trade I think we'll see JT in a Canucks uniform… at least until trade deadline…

  9. The Canucks had a respectable season, just not good enough to make the playoffs– a top 10 defense and a top 10 PP are the positives to take away but they had the 30th ranked PK, and that will not cut it in the playoffs. Lots of changes during the season, so, we'll see if they continue to improve under the new management team. The Cap situation is bad, very little room to work with, so, there will be some roster changes. RFA Brock Boeser is key to what they do, Lammikko and Highmore should be offered. IMHO, all the UFAs are gone. Good luck with the salary cap, Canucks, GM Benning left a real mess to clean up. Yeah, OEL has been underperforming since he arrived in Vancouver, and he's an albatross to the team IMHO. And, of course, the JT Miller situation needs to be resolved as well, personally, I see him on the move to ease the cap financial issues.

  10. RHD Defense need the most . Benning Contracts signed crippled the team after off load ERICKSON add Oel poolman Dickinson never ends . No more Lazy Sutter Injuries prone never lived up to his contract no more veterans players washed up martin is fined with me

  11. Personally would like the canucks trade Bo instead of JT and get a RHD and picks for Bo. Give JT the long term deal and have JT and petey as our top 2 centers moving forward. Trade Myers and hopefully dickinson while offer sheeting nicholas Roy from vegas.

  12. I hate to say it but I think it should be Boeser,O.E.L all the ufa's but Hunt. Its a toss-up.Maybe Luke Schenn,OEL and either Brock or JT.You nailed it though.

  13. This organization continues to waste talent and cap space. In 2 yes there gonna be up against everything. Use the cap space one way or another, What a waste of a season.

  14. Also for Vancouver look at Ottawa for a trade, you could probably help each other out.OEL and Shenn would be a second a perfect second pairing. Then add JT or Brock and they would be able to beat up on the Amrrican rivalries.Ottawa has Batherson and Zub a right shot defenseman they also have a lot of prospects in their prospect pool. You should trade amongst Canadian teams preferably

  15. So much conversation about moving OEL. I don’t think it’s possible. Too much term, too much $$, not enough production. I can’t see management willing to eat enough $$$ or provide enough other items to make it possible at this time. Maybe in a couple of years. Instead, focus on trading Myers. He’s got two years left. If the team ate $1-$2M, I’d think he could be moved for some picks. Once we’ve finished absorbing his hit, THEN trade OEL.
Miller should go also. He may end up lasting decently for 6 years, but how common is that? Not enough to make that gamble. If he had been a Canuck this whole time, I’d say loyalty would come into play, like it did with the twins. They could have been moved instead of that last contract but loyalty to them was the right thing…and also advertising to other players that Vancouver could be a stable environment, instead of a “money ball” type team

  16. Unfortunately the Canucks will have to live with the Benning trades for several more years.
Getting rid of the Eriksson, Roussel, Beagle contracts was great. but, they are all UFA's now, and they are now suck with the OEL albatross for 5 more years. They didn't make the playoffs anyway, so suffering through another year with the afore mentioned contracts would look good now.

  17. OEL is not a great contract but it’s not going anywhere. The best case scenario to upgrade the d is through the right side. Poolman and Myers are 2 right handed dmen that IMO are weaker top 4 options….. Schene playing next to Hughes for less than 1 million a season is a better option for the right side than the other 2 dmen I mentioned…… fix the pk with some bottom 6 guys and modify the right side of the D to either be faster or more physical but one things for sure Myers and Poolman are neither fast or overly physical for the size they have.

  18. Yzerman will take on Tyler Myers contract for 2 years for Vancouver's 2022 15th overall draft pick.

  19. Trade JT Miller to NJD for 2nd overall, then trade 15th overall for someone to take OEL or Myers.

After that flip 2nd overall and our 2023 1st for the Habs 1st overall pick this season and draft Shane Wright? Can the Habs say no to 2 high picks next season? and 2nd overall this season ?
